Vegetables grown without pesticides or chemical fertilizers

These are the producers that Hiyori Japanese Food proudly introduces.
This time we will be talking about the commitment of Gun Farm in Aya Town, Higashimorokata District, Miyazaki Prefecture.

About Aya Town, Higashimorokata District, Miyazaki Prefecture

It is a town located in the central-western part of Miyazaki Prefecture that "lives together with evergreen broad-leaved forests."
It is known as a successful example of urban revitalization with slogans such as "a town of natural ecosystem agriculture" and "evergreen broad-leaved forest city," and the number of people moving there from all over the country seeking a decent life surrounded by nature is increasing.

Aya Town, a town of organic farming located almost in the center of Miyazaki Prefecture, is developing its town by making use of and nurturing the natural ecosystem.
The entire town has been working together on this for many years with the aim of eliminating synthetic chemicals such as chemical fertilizers and pesticides and maintaining food safety and health.

Gun Farm is located on a hill about 70m above sea level overlooking Shaka-ga-take and Hokke-dake.
Gun-san, his wife, and his lovely, always smiling, mother all grow the vegetables together.
Because no pesticides or chemical fertilizers are used, the substance "alpha-terchenil" secreted from the roots of marigolds as green manure kills root-knot nematodes and root-lesion nematodes underground.

Because no herbicides are used, maintaining the field environment is a struggle, but Gun, who takes pride in and continues to protect Aya Town's natural ecosystem agriculture, says, "I'm happy that we can provide vegetables to babies through Hiyori's Japanese meals," "The health of children is my greatest wish," and "I'm happy to be able to be of some help, even in a small way."

As we listened to their story, we felt happy that the first vegetables that a baby eats are those grown with such care, and we sincerely hope that the baby will continue to grow healthily on these vegetables.
